Someday

You can’t fall if you don’t climb. But there’s no joy living your whole life on the ground!

With a rapid changing world, we have one of two choices we need to make. The more popular way to go is to simply fall in with these changes and do what everyone else is doing. The problem with this mindset, is that it often leads to selling ourselves out. We go against our better judgement. God’s Spirit gives us something called discernment, and we need to take it seriously. When we walk closely with Him, He will clearly show us what is from Him and what is not! And that is when we need to stick to our guns, no matter how much persecution it might lead to.

The other way to go is to adapt to a life that does not simply follow the crowd. We are not meant to follow the popular choices, we are called to follow Christ. In Him we find our moral compass. When we choose the cross, we cannot only choose it when it is comfortable. We cannot only choose it when it is popular. We either choose it completely, or we don’t choose it at all. We trust God in the good times and the bad. Even when the fig trees do not blossom and there are no grapes on the vine, we still live for God, and for Him alone.

Today is the day that we need to make that choice. We cannot procrastinate. There is no time to think that “Someday” will be the right day. Like Joshua we need to stand up and choose who we will serve. Will it be the world with its morally corrupt direction, or God, who is the Way? As for me and my household, we will worship God, no matter what the world says or does. How about you?
