Move!

We all want to find the right track and direction for our lives. Come to think of it, that’s basically what our main objective is – what is my purpose and which road do I take to get there.

As a Christian, I believe that God reveals that purpose to us and it’s the one thing that gives my life direction and meaning. But even when I know what I have been called to do in this life, I’m still a long way off from figuring it all out. I need guidance and direction every step of the way. And I also need to steer away from complacency.

You see, the enemy doesn’t really care that much whether you’re on the right track or not, as long as you just stay where you are. There are so many of us in the right place, yet we lack the motivation to move forward. Why disturb the serenity of our present position if moving might lead to ripples in an otherwise smooth pond?

If we’re certain of our Salvation through the cross then why do we need to move forward? Well, here’s the thing. Jesus didn’t tell us to sit still. In fact, He tells us to take up our cross. He tells us to go into the world. His word tells us that faith without works are dead. “Take”, “Go” and “Works” are all words that require movement. We can’t sit still in a state of contentment if we are to be the light and salt of this world. We need to move. We need to wash over the world with His love and grace.

Edmund Burke once said, “All that is required for evil to triumph, is for good men to do nothing.” It seems to me that evil is triumphing, and as Christians we love to blame the world for that – and even Satan. Yet, when we don’t move as a mighty force of God’s love, we are the ones to blame. We are the ones who have been given authority to do great things in His name. He never said it would be easy. So why do we choose to sit, complacently and look for the easy way out. Jesus said, “You will have troubles…” and those troubles will come when we move towards our calling, not wait for our calling to come to you.

It’s great when we know we are on the right track. It’s even better when we move forward in faith. The world needs Christians who won’t tolerate the complacency in their own lives. It won’t be easy, but it sure will be rewarding.

Are you up for the challenge?

Have an absolutely amazing day.

  1. Your hitting the target.
Great message. Probably needing a messenger is the next step. We are it because we have the message. Thanks
