There’s a tendency within society to allow ourselves to be dragged into living a plastic life. A life that is flooded with inauthenticity and fakeness. What we portray on the outside completely contradicts what we feel on the inside. We put on a mask that hides our true identity. We will do anything to impress the Jones’s, even if it means sacrificing our own “realness.” The result is that we end up living a lie!
The only way to avoid a fake life, is to know a real Saviour. Not only know about Him, but to really know Him. When we do, He takes away that desire to please and impress others. When we give our lives to Jesus Christ, he removes the mask from our hearts, and gives us back our realness. The “realness” that he intended for us to have and to live every day of our lives. Then, the only opinion that matters to us, is God’s.
If you please God, it does not matter who you displease. If you displease God, it does not matter who you please. So, be who God has called you to be, not who the world wants you to be. And the freedom you will experience will blow you away.
