You can do anything, anytime! Why use the excuse, “I will do it when the time is right?” Why always have time to do the easy stuff, but struggle to find the time to take the path less travelled?
The way we spend our time all boils down to the choices we make. Some people waste time on frivolous things, and then find excuses for their time wasting. Others choose to value every second, and use their time wisely. But the question then arises, “What is considered to be frivolous?”
The only way we can answer that question, is to have a true understanding of what is really important in life. For some, the true measure of success is wealth. In their view, “Time is Money.” Whatever time they spend not making money, is a waste of time. For others, popularity is the key to life. Every moment is spent on social media, trying to get the approval of as many people as possible. These days, a person’s worth seems to be measured by the number of followers they have on social media. And the list goes on.
But I can guarantee you that nobody who places their security in worldly things, finds solace when they have to face their own mortality. At that moment, none of those things matter. The only thing that matters when every single human being takes their final breathe, is whether they know the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. When we do, we can face death with confidence. Because, it is not really death that we are facing, but rather the beginning of our Real Life. The amazing thing is that we can begin to experience the love and freedom that God gives right here and right now.
So why not focus on eternal things? Why not know what your purpose here on Earth is, and live the most fulfilling life you could ever imagine? Every second, children around the world are dying of hunger. Why not spend your time showing God’s love to them. Every moment, elderly people are dying alone. Why not be there for them? That’s what Jesus would do. Every second, people are entering into eternity without God. Why not share your faith with them? These things are what God calls “True Religion.” Not what colour the carpet should be in the church, or what songs we should worship to.
The time has come! The day has arrived! It’s time to use your time wisely. The time we waste, we can never get back. What will you do with your 86 000 seconds today?
Have an awesome day!
So so true and a sobering convicting thought.
