A little boy once asked his Sunday School teacher whether God’s name was Andy! When asked why, he referred to the following 2 lines from the hymn, “He walks with me.”
And he walks with me and he talks with me
And he tells me I am his own…
It’s a cute little story and obviously very innocent, but if we really want to know who God is, we must spend time with Him. Spending time with Him doesn’t constitute reading self-help books and little devotions like this. It necessitates walking with Him and talking with Him. It calls for limited screen time and unlimited God time.
We can’t live our lives in compartments. And that’s exactly what we love doing. When at work and amongst friends, it is often difficult for people to know that we are Christians. And that… is a problem. Our love for God needs to infiltrate our lives to such an extent, that it seeps into every aspect of our existence. It needs to be clear to everyone around us, that we belong to Him. Not only on a Sunday morning.
If we want to call ourselves Christians, we need to live up to it. And the only way we can do that is to really know the One who we follow… Jesus Christ. Have an amazing day!
