Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak!
This is not about being silent when there is injustice in the world. That’s exactly the time we must speak up. It’s about listening with our hearts, because our minds are so often polluted with our own agendas, that we choose to listen to the chaos going on in our heads. We allow ourselves to be indoctrinated by what society thinks and does, instead of retreating into a place of solitude. When we choose to close our minds to the noise of the world and open our hearts to God, we will never be disappointed.
There’s a reason why God said to David, “Be still and know that I am God!” At that moment, David was surrounded by enemies. His mind must have been telling him to do exactly the opposite. The fighter in him must have been protesting, “There’s no time to sit and be quiet! There are wars to be fought and enemies to be conquered!” In the context of his situation, it didn’t make sense for David to do what God was asking of him. The thing is, that God always calls us to do things that don’t make sense from a person’s perspective.
Now, more than ever, we are facing attacks from every direction. The noise of the enemy is trying to distract us from staying focused. Now, more than ever, we want to fight back by responding to those attacks. Now, more than ever, we need to “Be still!” Every step we take away from the noise of this world, is a step closer to God. Every move towards God is a move in the right direction. Being still in His presence allows us to hear His voice; the only voice of absolute truth. We simply can’t afford, not to be still and know that He is God!
My prayer for you right now, is that you will stop whatever you’re doing, and enter into the quietness of His presence. There you will find His peace and His direction. It is there where the things of this world will grow strangely dim. It is there where His calling becomes clear and any fears fade like mist before the sun.
Have an amazing day in God’s presence!
