Confusion is better than stupid conclusions. In confusion there is still a possibility. In stupid conclusions there is none.

The simple explanation for the chaotic society we find ourselves living in, is because we love to come to stupid conclusions. So stupid that some people will even be offended by my use of the word “stupid” even though it is including myself and not pointing out anyone specifically. This morning I heard that the word “curry” is racist. How stupid is that?

The “White Privilege Theory” says that white people are inherently privileged simply because of the colour of their skin. The crazy thing is that most of the people advocating this stupidity, are living in countries where there are equal rights and opportunities for anyone of any colour to achieve whatever they set out to achieve. No law is holding them back. It’s a stupid conclusion to draw that I am disproportionately advantaged because of what some racist white people did in the past. Whatever the colour of our skin, all we need to do is get off our butts and work for what we want. There’s nothing stopping us except ridiculous excuses that don’t apply anymore. A stupid conclusion to draw is that I need to feel bad and “dirty” simply because I am white. That, in itself, is racist!

In the USA, they are pushing for people who own homes, not to be allowed to demand rent from occupants and not to be allowed (by law) to have them evicted. So if you work hard and have the privilege of owning more than one home because of your hard work, you basically don’t have any rights concerning your own property. How on earth do people come up with this nonsense? Another aspect that is been pushed by governments around the world, is to reach 0% carbon emissions. That means that we need to absorb more CO2 than we emit. To do that, we basically all need to go live in the bush, not own a car, never fly in a plane, and grow all our own food. Every single thing that our spoilt and comfortable western society can’t live without for a single day, will have to go. That is a stupid conclusion to come to when one looks at how comfort crazy our society is.

There are so many more things I can harp on about that are being pursued by society; and each one is based on “stupid conclusions”. Being confused about these issues is understandable. There are so many opposing opinions out there that it should make us think. But the only way that we are going to be able to bring any common sense into the equation, is if we allow God to guide us. That means we need to put aside ideas that might be popular and cool. It means that we need to stop coming to stupid conclusions. They might not seem stupid to the world, but we are not of this world! God tells us in His Word:

Don’t fool yourself. Don’t think that you can be wise merely by being relevant. Be God’s fool—that’s the path to true wisdom. What the world calls smart, God calls stupid.
