Peace and Crusts

Peace begins with a smile!

Peace is something that there has always been too little of in this world. There was disharmony with the very first people on earth, and it has continued to build up to a point today, where there needs to be an outlet. But for the world to take hold of peace, it needs to let go of power.

We live in a world where we all want to be right, no matter the cost. We live in a world where we think that if people don’t agree with our points of view, then we can’t live in peace. There will always be people who differ from us. That doesn’t mean we need to go to war! It also doesn’t mean that we need to adapt our morals and principles to please others. As a Christian, what it does mean, is that we stick to what we believe while treating those who differ from us, with love. That’s what makes us different, but that difference is very difficult to find in the church today.

We cannot allow the immoral ideas of the world, to muddy the waters of our faith. We need to stand firm on the Rock. When the winds of popularity begin to blow, we must stand firm. We haven’t been called to be popular… we have been called to be faithful. When the winds of resentment begin to blow, we cannot allow them to blow us off course! Just as Jesus did not come to this world to resent those who disagreed with them, but to love them despite their opinions, we need to do the same. The world needs to know what Christians stand for, and the greatest of these will always be LOVE.

Until we really know Jesus, we will be tossed around by the opinions of the world. But once we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour, the things and ideas of the world seem to fade away and all that becomes important is to serve Him. Living a life rejected by the majority is difficult, but it seems to matter less and less. Living a life that pleases God becomes all that matters. That’s why, I will rather live and share love and peace while having to eat alone, than follow popular views, only to sit at a banquet table where God is not welcome.

And let the peace that comes from Christ, rule in your hearts – and have an amazing, peaceful day.
