The world doesn’t need more critics, and arrogance, and greed. What we need, is to change our perspective on eternity. In doing so, we discover the truth and we begin to give what we have, instead after coveting what we see.
Everything changes when we know the truth. Therefore, everything changes when we know Jesus. Once we have a personal relationship with our Saviour, it is impossible to live an unchanged life. At that moment our entire perspective changes. That’s when we realise that our lives here on earth are but a blink of an eye, compared to what lies ahead.
There’s no wonder that those who don’t believe in eternity, want to make as much money as possible, and have the most “fun” as possible during their short sojourn here on earth. And at the end of it all, so many people wished they spent less time filling their coffers and doing frivolous things. A life well lived is a life of purpose, and a life of purpose happens when we realise that there is much more than just the here and now. That is when we trade short-lived fun, for everlasting joy. That’s when the things of this earth become strangely dim and we turn our eyes to God, who is the source of eternal light.
When our motives are guided by eternal things, then our actions become filled with purpose.
You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs, but only one wins. We must run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally.
I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.
Have an awesome day!
