“Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he?”
There are 2 ways that we can live our lives. The first is “How great am I.” It’s about putting all the focus on ourselves and living lives to impress others. When we choose to go this route, life revolves around how great we can become and how much we can achieve because of our own strengths. Living our lives, trying to build our own kingdoms and trying to reach the top, requires an inflated self image. That’s when we choose to deny God and His Word because it contradicts our way of thinking. It stands in our way while climbing to the top. How dare God say something that interferes with my views? How dare He allow things to happen in my life that I don’t want?
But as soon as we stop focusing on trying to be significant, we begin to realise the greatness of God. And the moment we stand in awe of that greatness, He makes us aware of how significant and important we are to Him. The more we focus on God, the more loved and accepted we feel and we no longer need to run after the acceptance of people. Trusting Him as the great God that He is, leads us to take big steps of faith in the direction that He calls us to. And as we move to the rhythm of His heart, we begin to make a significant difference in the world – not because of who we are, but because of Him whom we worship.
If mankind is so great and our views were so fantastic, then why is the world in such disarray? It’s time to realise that God is God, and we are not.
Have an amazing day!
