If you think you are too insignificant to make a difference, try getting some sleep with a mosquito in the room.
Whether we like it or not, we all make a difference. The question is, “Is the difference I am making, building people up or breaking them down?” Either way… we are making a difference.
Sometimes, the only difference we focus on is the one we are making in our own lives. All our time and effort goes into building our own little kingdoms. Although we think that we are bettering ourselves when all our time goes into ME, we are doing exactly the opposite. The only thing we are building on is our selfishness. By doing that, we are still making a difference, but only to our own little world. Michael W. Smith wrote a song called “Population Me”. It focuses exactly on that problem. By simply focusing on me, I am not being a game changer because I’m not the only one in the game.
If there is One person in history who was the epitome of being the perfect game changer, it is Jesus Christ. He never fell into the trap of simply “playing” for Himself. His purpose was to change the game for everyone else because He understood that life involves those around us and how we can make the game better for them. The moment Jesus stepped into “The Game” everything changed.
What about you and I? Are we comfortable, sitting on the bench, not contributing to the game? And when the opportunity arises to get onto the field, do we make a difference by being a team player, or is it all about showing off our own skills. The world has enough players hogging the ball. There are more than enough bench-warmers. There is no shortage of players simply making up the numbers. The world needs you to be a true game changer. God is calling you and me to be a team player for His Kingdom.
It doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. Those who play hard get tired. They even get injured. Verbal abuse might even be flung at them from the crowd. But their efforts never go unnoticed by the coach. That’s exactly why God says in His Word that He is the ultimate Healer, Rest Giver and Comforter. He knows what it will cost us to be Game Changers, but He will give us everything we need to keep going.
Have an amazing day as you change the game.
