Get out of the Shadows

The darker the shadow, the brighter the light that casts it. It’s simply a question of turning around and looking towards the source. Our lives will never be trouble free, but the direction we face when experiencing challenges in life, makes all the difference. When we focus on the issues and allow them to create despair, we have made a choice. When we turn towards the light and focus on our blessings, we have made a choice.

People who choose to view the glass as half full, don’t necessarily have less problems than others; they simply choose to see more of the light source. Because it’s only in the light that we can see clearly. It’s only there, where we have a clear picture of where we are and where we are going. That doesn’t mean their problems aren’t scary. It simply means that they are not alone. When we face those seemingly insurmountable giants, we can know that we are not alone. When we feel those heart-wrenching emotions that are indescribably painful, we know that the One who knows all about rejection and pain, is right their to comfort us. The choice is ours whether we want to remain in our own painful shadows, or step into the life-giving, pain soothing light of The Son.

Jesus Christ is a “way maker” during the times when we feel lost in the shadows. He is a “pain taker” who wants to share our burdens. He is a breaker of all those chains that are holding us back from living a life of freedom and victory. When we open up to Him and allow Him to be our source of hope, we will NEVER be disappointed.
