Why not

You can’t make a positive impact with a negative mindset.

It is said that we become the sum total of the people we spend the most time with. When I look at society today, the result of what’s happening around us doesn’t bid well for the people we might become if we don’t keep focus. There are so few good role models out there. Hate seems to be swallowing love; anger seems to be overpowering grace; selfishness seems to be throttling justice. In an environment like this, it becomes easy to throw our hands up in the air and succumb to the influences around us.

That’s when the enemy fills our minds with the most effective lie ever thought out. It’s a lie that has led to depression and a feeling of despair. It’s a lie that has resulted in society becoming what it is today. And it consists of 6 powerful words… Who do you think you are? When we want to step out and try to make the world a better place, those words often stop us. By allowing the lies of Satan, to make us doubt who we are, we have allowed him to steer society in the direction of self-destruction.

There’s a reason why we are told to “renew our minds” in scripture. We must alter the way we think. We must choose to believe that God wants to use us. We must also know that when He calls us to be the salt and the light of the world, He is asking us to make a positive impact. And when He asks us to do that, He is not asking us to walk in our own strength. He is the One who is holding out boldness. All we need to do is grab it. And every time we grab it, we are exercising our faith in Him. The more we do that, the easier it becomes and the more He will use us.

So the question is this: ” Do I choose to be indoctrinated by the lies of Satan, or do I choose to listen to the Author of Truth?” God wants to use you to beautify the world with His colours. Why not accept the honour of making a difference for Him.
