There is no better time to shine a light, than in the midst of darkness. Now is that time.
The world is in a very dark place. Society is stumbling around, following voices that lead into even more chaos. Voices that create even more insecurity and hopelessness. What the world needs more than anything, is light. Light to see clearly and to give hope where all hope is lost. Light that allows us to see that we are not alone.
It is believed that an old tribal initiation ritual required boys to remain alone in a forest overnight. As the boy would stand defenseless and afraid in an area roaming with predators, he would wonder why his parents, who should love him, would leave him to the mercy of nature. He would doubt his parents’ love for him as the tears of fear would trickle down his trembling cheeks. And when, after hours of agony, the first glimmers of light would appear through the thick canopy, a spark of hope would become a fire of joy when the boy sees his father standing right in front of him. “Did you really believe that I would leave you on your own?” And as his tears of joy roll onto the illuminated leaves underfoot, the son is ready to take on the world.
If you have ever felt the desire to make a difference as a child of God, now is the time to arise. Even though we are surrounded by the darkness and its predators, we are in the presence of our Father. He was, is and always will be there no matter what the circumstances. And right now, He is asking you to be His light in a seemingly hopeless world. The question is… will you arise and shine?
Arise and shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. Isaiah 60:1
My prayer for you today is that God would make His face shine on you and fill you with the courage to stand up, arise and shine for Him.
Have a great day.
