Symphony

Horse hair and animal skin doesn’t particularly conjure up thoughts of beauty. Whereas listening to Beethoven’s violin sonata number 5, or Phil Collins drumming in his 1981 hit, “In the air tonight”, beautiful would certainly be an appropriate adjective to describe the experience.

The point is that things aren’t always as they seem. Seemingly useless things can become things of beauty in the right hands. Sometimes our lives turn out to be nothing more than “horse hair” and “animal skin”. It’s often because we are trying to be in control. I’ve tried it for such a long time, and believe me, it was no symphony. But when I handed control over to The One who specialises in making ruins come alive, everything changed. Even in the madness of life, there was peace. In the chaos of my ruins, He wrote a symphony. He took my rusty keys and is playing a beautiful melody.

Now I tune my heart to His beat and He brings me through anything life can throw at me. There’s no more fear, no more uncertainty and no more doubt. My hope is found in the name of Jesus.

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Cor. 5:17)

Have an awesome day!
