It begins with me

I have a passion to make a real difference in the world. To be an encourager! To even begin, I need to take an honest look at myself.

• Am I doing this because I really want to, or because I want people to think I’m a good person?
• Am I willing to do the hard yards and make sacrifices?
• Am I okay with starting small and making a difference for one?

And what I discovered is that while I am doing what God is calling me to, He is busy changing me and growing me in the process. He is wanting me to be honest and to do things with one motive in mind. When I get to a place where I’m not doing things to gain the approval of others, I am halfway there. When I’m making a difference because I want to share God’s love with the world, it’s a slam dunk.

It’s a win-win situation. God is working in my life to make me a better person, and I’m encouraging others, which might be helping others but it’s helping me even more. I am blessed, others are hopefully blessed, and God is pleased.
