Nobody can force anybody to love them. Love is closely linked to free will. It’s a choice that we have and make. When we love somebody, we always want the best for them. Our desire is to protect them and to make sure that nothing bad happens to them. But the reality is that they will, somewhere along the line, make a bad decision that will be to their detriment. And when they do, we can’t just switch the love switch off for them. We still love them, because if we don’t, then it’s very likely that it was never love, to begin with.
Now when it comes to God, it is even more clear. Never feel that God doesn’t love you because of bad decisions you have made. God loves you irrespective of what you’ve done. He can’t simply switch His love on and off, because God doesn’t just love us with unconditional love, HE IS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
If there’s one thing you need to understand, it’s that God loves you no matter what your past looks like. He has a future for you that can start today. So, wherever you might find yourself right now – know this – YOU ARE LOVED!
