Who said it was easy?

It’s the easiest thing in the world to choose the easy way. We are bombarded with the dodgy philosophy that we must do whatever makes us happy. Our human nature tells us to do it the easy way. We avoid risks and challenges at all costs when we decide to take this route.

Why do we need to choose a tougher road if there is a perfectly smooth road ahead of us? Why travel on stormy seas when you can wait for the storm to subside? Why get out of the boat and risk getting wet, when it’s safe and dry on deck? It sounds like a no-brainer, right?

Well, here’s the thing… Doing the right thing is so important if we have integrity and want to be respected. Doing the right thing is showing the world what we stand for. And so often, doing the right thing means following the path less traveled. It means we have to make a path where everything is overgrown. It means we need to walk in faith, trusting God. And we can count on Him being there when we do step out of the boat because we are doing what He has called us to do; “The right thing!”

He never said it was going to be easy, but He did promise that He will be there every step of the way.

As a Christian, it should be a no-brainer to do the right thing, even if it means we sacrifice our comfort. Nothing becomes resilient if it stays in its comfort zone. That is why, I believe, the right thing is so often the most difficult thing to do. But do it anyway, because the rewards far outweigh comfort.

Have an awesome day!
