Let the world know…

I studied Philosophy, and one of the biggest questions that philosophers have grappled with for centuries is, “Is there meaning to life?” The answer to that question is a definite, “Yes!” The meaning of life is to make a difference! It is about impacting the world in a way that would make it a better place. It’s certainly not about living a selfish life just looking after my own best-interest. If it was all about me, then I would have been the only one around. But there are 8 billion other people on this earth. Every single one of us is unique but we all have the same general purpose. And that is to have an impact on the life of every person that we come into contact with.

Can you just imagine how awesome this world would be if each and every one of us took this seriously. If we all decided to lend a helping hand to those who needed it. And if we did that, not letting the world know how wonderful we are, but doing it without receiving recognition. Doing it because we know it’s about helping others and not about promoting ourselves.

We all love to refer to Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma Ghandi. We are in awe at what Mother Teresa and George Mueller did. These people left a legacy behind. They made a difference. They changed the lives of millions of people and there were 2 reasons for it:

  • They weren’t qualified to do something but they believed in their cause and did it anyway.
  • It wasn’t about their comfort, but about the difference it would make to others.

It’s about identifying a need and doing something about it. If not you and I… then who? If not now… then when? There’s no better person than you to make the world a better place. And there’s no better time than now! The life and death of Jesus sums it up perfectly. It’s about LOVE. If Jesus was all about His own comfort, He would never have done any of the things He did. He would certainly not have been willing to die a cruel death for something He wasn’t guilty of. But His love was His life… and He gave it away. His life had true purpose. Does yours?

Have an awesome day!
